How do telemarketers get my name?
There are several ways people can get your name. One of the easiest ways is from public records. Public records can be retrieved with the help of a title company.

Whenever you fill out a form to win a car from a drawing the information is purchased by telemarketing companies. Usually its timeshare companies that purchase these leads but sometimes mortgage companies as well.

Certain lenders that also have retail departments will begin to make calls for loans such as 2/28's and other ARMs(adjustable rate mortgages) when their adjustable period is almost activated, and/or when they see rates available that will be beneficial for the customers to refinance with.

Sometimes, your name is on a telemarketer's list because you have recently applied for a mortgage. The credit bureaus sell this information to mortgage companies, who in turn may try to solicit you.

A majority of telemarketer's get your names from any forms that you have filled out. This can be anything from cars, timeshares, coupons, or any type of drawing. To avoid this, check for companies that say they do not sell, share, or rent your name.

This is not a commitment to lend. Restrictions may apply. Information is subject to change without notice. All loans are subject to credit approval. Equal Housing Opportunity.
