Many companies out there will claim to be able to get you a "clean" credit file with all 3 major credit bureaus. They will set you up with a new "identification number" that you can use instead of your social security number. This is also known as "file segregation".
The truth is, this is a felony. Any time you apply for credit and give a false social security number, you are opening yourself up to FTC investigations and criminal actions. So dont be misled by the claims of "perfectly legal", "its your right" and other lies.If you have had some credit problems in the past there are many companies who can legally repair your credit history.
You can however create an LLC and establish credit under your federal tax ID number. This is legal. It is important that if you apply for credit for yourself you never use the LLC ID number. The LLC is its own seperate entity.
Filing for bankruptcy will provide you with almost brand new credit after a few years of the bankruptcy being discharged. Filing a bankruptcy can wipe out most, if not all of your current debts, and provide you with a clean slate to make a new start. It will probably take a little while for you to be able to obtain reasonable credit again, but it may be your best option to give you a fresh start and free you from the burden of debt you have accumulated.
